Training Camp + House League + All-Star Teams

The new and improved Annapolis Box League will kick off the first weekend in Jan. 2024! The league will run for 6 weeks this winter and will conclude with the championship series the weekend of Feb 10/11. Thanks to the continued support, we want to add some additional features to the league. Annapolis Box will host two training camp weekends for all players registered to compete in the Annapolis Box League. Training camps will allow all players to learn the fundamentals of shooting, offensive concepts, Defensive concepts, and transition play. We will also use this time to evaluate players to ensure level teams for league play.

All-Star Teams: Teams will be selected by the league commissioner and coaches. Players will be notified of selection to All-Star selections before playoffs. All-Star players will have the opportunity to join and attend the NXT Philly Box event on the weekend of Feb 16/17

ABL Box House League

  1. What to expect from Training Camps: Players will learn how to effectively utilize pick play (with and without the ball), shooting technique, power play concepts, off-ball play, transition concepts, Defending picks, off-ball defending, and Short Man D.
  2. Training Camp Dates: Dec 9/10 + Dec 16/17 at St Marys fields. Official times will be released before Thanksgiving.* Each group will have an hour-long session.**
  3. Game Times: The official schedule will be released before training camp.*
  4. Saturday’s: Starting at 2:00 PM: 2034, 2033, 2032, 2031
  5. Sunday’s: Staring at 12:00 PM: 2030, 2029, 2028

Times are subject to change.** Survey to registered participants will be shared next week.

  1. Rosters: Rosters will be limited in size to maximize playing time for all players.
  2. Game Structure: All games will be 40 minutes long. The last two minutes of each half will be stopped time.

In order to properly establish and grow the sport of box lacrosse in America, the US Box Lacrosse Association has ensured four main elements are addressed through The USBOXLA 4 Pillar Approach to Development: Game, Player, Coach and Official.

How is that done? Education.

USBOXLA provides all four developmental areas with various educational tools, guidance, and support through both in-person and digital learning tools like the association’s Backstage Pass certification portal.
